After almost a day and a half of travel, Becky and I (and the rest of the SIT group) made it to the island Zanzibar, on the east coast of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean. We are based in Stone Town, a beautiful city full of old buildings, winding alleyways, a bustling market and clear, turquoise water. It is indescribably beautiful and different than anywhere I have ever been or could have ever imagined... I kind of feel like I'm in Aladdin.
Working on uploading my own photos, but hopefully this will give you an idea for now.
Trying to keep this short - went snorkeling, beach combing, swimming, exploring, have already learned four tenses in Swahili, and am having a wonderful time so far! Ninapenda Zanzibar!
